Description
Something completely different. Black and White photography.
I usually avoid this part of photography because I like colorful pictures more than this but when I saw the scenery I had to change settings to b/w.
This is the Big Ferris Wheel in Vienna's "Prater" a big and lovely amusement park. (Here is further information). It was on a sunny day with a few clouds and I did what I love to do: Taking pictures against the sun.
However, I would really be interested in how you like my first attempts into black-white photography. Please give me honest critique if you dislike something.
Focal Length: 19mm
Shutter speed: 1/500 (+1 1/3) f/14
ISO: 200

My internal ranking
- I like the composition and the light in this one pretty much.

Shooting into the sunlight is never an easy thing by any means. I do think you have a great exposure here. The light flare on the bottom of the lens is a little distracting. When shooting into the sun you can still get the flare effect without so much glare if you partially block the sun with an object. (the ferris wheel) I am curious would again the use of a polarizing filter if you dont currently use one. And I understand your preference of using color images but I honestly feel you made the right choice here for B&W. I might suggest that you consider converting all of your color images to B&W to compare. Some pictures just look better in B&W.
